As a biographer, I’ve learned firsthand just how much the stories of those who pass away truly mean. A legacy video isn’t just a film - it’s a powerful way to answer the big questions:

Where did we come from? What was life like back then? Who am I?

It’s a chance to capture and preserve the voices, faces, and defining moments that shaped a life, your family and friendships. Unlike an old letter, a faded photograph, or a voice recording tucked away in a drawer, a legacy video brings memories to life in a way that feels real, present, and deeply personal. It allows you to relive joy, love, struggle, triumph - and to share those moments not just with your loved ones today, but with generations yet to come.

Imagine, for a moment, watching a film of your own ancestors - recorded during the Victorian era, the Tudor age, or even the Great Wars. What would it mean to see their expressions, hear their laughter, witness their lives as they truly were? That’s the gift a legacy video offers.

Your story matters. And through film, it can live on, vividly, powerfully, and forever.

What is

involved?

    • We discuss the purpose of the video: personal or family history, legacy, milestone (like a 70th birthday), “special time in life” reflection (iE becoming a parent for the first time, returning from abroad,…)

    • We define the scope: short feature (5–10 mins), full-length (30–60 mins), or multi-part series.

    • We identify key themes, people, places, and events to include.

    • We create a story outline or script (this can be loose or structured).

    • We develop tailored interview questions tailored to your life journey and share them with you

    • You collect and prepare supporting materials:

      • Photos

      • Home videos

      • Letters or documents

      • Music or voice recordings (only licensed music may be included)

    • Sit-down, on-camera interview (can be at home or another quiet/appropriate place).

    • May involve multiple sessions to cover early life, adulthood, career, relationships, values, and legacy (an extra charge of AUD 100.00 is due per additional session if the 4-Hour/ Full-Day booking needs to be split up.

    • We use professional lighting, sound, and camera equipment to ensure cinematic quality.

      Add-On

    • Interviews with family members, friends, or colleagues for added perspective.

    • We add visual depth with old photos, documents, newspaper clippings, and video montages (materials provided by you)

      Add-ons

    • We capture footage of meaningful locations, such as a childhood home, favourite spots, studio, or garden if part of the scope

    • We film the everyday, enjoyable activities

    • We craft a compelling narrative arc using interviews and visuals, using state-of-the-art video editing software - DaVinci Resolve Professional

      • We colour grade and master sound for a polished look.

    • We add fully licensed music, transitions, subtitles, names/titles, and historical context where needed

    • We incorporate voiceovers or narration.

    • We incorporate your photos (up to 50) and/or family videos (up to 3)

    • Final product typically includes:

      • Intro and outro sequences

      • Chapter titles

    • Digital delivery via dedicated archive - password-protected

ADD-ONS

  • Interview with family members, friends, or colleagues for added perspective.

  • Trailer or teaser for social media and to share

  • Footage of everyday, enjoyable activities (family moments, hobbies,…)

  • Delivery on physical media (USB, Hard Drive)

  • Footage of meaningful locations, such as a childhood home, favourite spots

  • High Definition and or 720p versions (easier to share compared to 4K)
